Gina is married to Dr. Curtis Johnson and they are the proud parents of seven beautiful children including David (24) who has Down syndrome Gina is an outspoken disability advocate and she founded Sharing Down Syndrome Arizona 1991when five families gathered in her home to 'share' the joys and unique challenges that come when raising a child who has Down syndrome. Gina feels her son David is truly the wind beneath her wings. She works full time as the Executive Director for SDSA. She also teaches sign language to thiurd graders through music at a local elementary school. She is a published author and her story, "My Favorite Teachers" was recently published in Chicken Soup for the Soul, Children with Special Needs." She also teaches 11 year old children at her church.

Dr. Johnson is a general practice who graduated with honors from Case Western Reserve University in 1975. He is a graduate of Brigham Young University. He served a mission for his church in the Eastern Atlantic states. Curt and his wife Gina are the proud parents of seven beautiful children includng their son David (24)who has Down sydnrome. Curt loves to run and he has completed 8 marathons. He favorite thing is just being with his family. He also teaches the 14 year-old youth at his church.

Seth is the proud big brother of David. He graduated from Georgetown Law School and is currently practicing Law in Washington D.C. Seth graduated from Brigham Young Univeristy and served a mission for his church in Fukuoka, Japan. Seth speaks fluent in Japanese and can read and write in Canji. Seth loves all of his brothers and sisters but David holds a special place in his heart.

Dr.Halpe is a cardiologist who loves our childen who have Down syndrome. Dr. Halpe practices at Arizona Pediatric Cardiology.

Tom and his wife Sharon are the proud parents of three beautiful childrne including Chase who has Down syndrome. Tom's company, Creative Environments, is well known in the Valley for it's premier landscaping design.

Sharon is the proud mother of three beautiful children including a son, Chase who has Down sydnrome and adorable daughters MacKenzie and Reagan. Sharon is a certified x-ray technician who proudly calls New Jersey home but loves the valley of the sun.

Shawnie Huff is the proud mother of three beautiful birth children (Braxton, Tia and Tyler) who have Down syndrome. Her son Braxton passed away when he was 13-months old. Shawnie and her husband Kevin also are blessed with Tia and Tyler. Shawnie and Kevin are flying to Serbia in April to adopt their son Max who also has Down syndrome. Shawnie and Kevin are the chairmen of our bereavement support, Sharing Good Grief.

Kay and her husband Mark are the proud parents of nine beautiful children including Parker (age 10) who has Down syndrome. Kay is a certified teacher but choses to work as a full fime mother of nine children. She is also active serving in her community and her church. Recently I (Gina Johnson) asked Parker what his mom his mom does. He said, "She pulls weeds." I asked what his dad does (lawyer) and he told me he climbs on the roof! How we love you Parker!

Kevin is married to Shawnie Huff and they are the proud parents of three birth children who have Down syndrome. In April 2008 they will fly to Serbia to adopt their son Max. Kevin and Shawnie host our Bereavement program, Sharing Good Grief. Their first son, Braxton, passed away when he was 13 months old. This is a proud dad who adores his children Kevin worked for 6 years as our Buddy Walk Chairperon.

Our dear friend and board member Bill Grogan past away in February 2008, but his love will live on forever not only in our hearts as a person who inspired all who knew him. Bill was a gifted public speaker who spoke to medical professionals and students regarding his successful double transplant that removed his Diabetes and made him no longer insulin dependant. He loved presenting to parent groups and just knowing Bill you knew that he truly believed the words he lived by…that EVERY DAY IS A GOOD DAY! xoxox
